Interlock Switch
Benefits: To remove power
from dangerous equipment

JULY 5, 2004 (ASIA PACIFIC) -
Omron provides
a range of Interlock Switch models designed to remove power from
potentially hazardous equipment, once the machine guard or
cabinet door is opened. The range of models provides a choice of
actuator style and contact arrangement to suit most
applications. All models incorporate positive-opening safety
contacts and are approved to European standards.
The D4BS Interlock Switch has a heavy-duty metal housing, IP67
protection rating, positive-opening contacts 1NC/1NO (others
available) and approved to standards TUV, UL, CSA, BIA and SUVA.
The D4BL Solenoid Guard Interlock Switch is designed to only
allow the door to be opened after an external signal energises
the internal solenoid of the safety switch. It is suitable for
ensuring the guards are not opened until dangerous moving parts
are stationary. It also automatically locks when the operation
key is inserted, and has a dedicated release lock in case of
power failure. In addition, D4BL has a die-cast aluminum housing
and LED operation indicator and is approved to standards TUV,
UL, CSA, BIA and SUVA.
