Capacity variation issues during battery cell production can lead to poorly assembled battery packs. Omron offers cell sorting to construct batteries from cells with same capacities eliminating the effect of cell capacity variations in order to optimize the performance of the cells.

Challenge

Capacity varies from battery cell to battery cell, which can lead to overcharge, over discharge, and overcurrent to battery packs. The capacities of cells in protective circuits should be equal to avoid this problem.
